[5] Self-willed ; obstinacy ; insists upon carrying out his plans.

Head.

Vertigo when walking in the open air.

Pressing headache (temples), with stupefaction and nausea (morning) ; worse when stooping and from heat ; better from motion and in the cold air.

Eyes.

Stitches in the eyes (when stooping).

Presbyopia and weakness of the eyes.

[10] Contraction of the pupils.

Gauze before the eyes ; when reading, the letters appear blurred and pale.

The eyes are dazzled by day-light and candle-light.

Ears.

Sticking pain and aching, especially when swallowing.

Hardness of hearing, with buzzing in the ears.

[15] Roaring, humming, and drumming in the ears.

Face.

Pale face, with sunken eyes.

Small pimples in the face, with fine, sticking, pricking sensations.

Face-ache, aggravated by pressure and contact.

Black pores on the chin.

Mouth and Throat.

[20] Sensation of dryness in the throat.

Haemorrhage from the mouth.

Ulceration of the velum.

Stinging in the throat during deglutition.

Sensation in the pharynx as ; if crumbs of bread had remained behind.

[25] Difficulty of swallowing solid food, as if the oesophagus were contracted.

Scraping in the throat from eating salt food.

Hawking up of green or yellow mucus.

Stomach and Abdomen.

Thirst in the morning (during the hot stage of the fever and not during the cold stage).

Aversion to pork.

[30] Frequent singultus.

Water-brash.

Vomiting of mucus and food when coughing.

Vomiting of bile (morning) ; vomiting at night.

Nausea after eating fat food.

[35] Vomiting of blood.

Colic after eating sour things.

Sensation of constrictive pain in the hypochondria ; he has to press on them with the hand when he coughs.

Clawing sensation in the pit of the stomach.

Stool and Anus.

Diarrhoea, stools consisting of bloody mucus ; after the stool, pain in the abdomen and small of the back.

Urinary Organs.

[40] Frequent desire to urinate, with scanty urine, -frequently only a few drops.

Frequent urination at night.

Dark urine, of strong smell.

Watery, inodorous urine (with fetid stool of white mucus).

Sexual Organs.

Women. Suppressed menstruation.

[45] Menstruation delayed.

Leucorrhoea, with labor-like, spasmodic pains in the abdomen.

Respiratory Organs.

Bad, offensive-smelling breath when coughing.

Oppressed breathing when talking ; mostly while sitting.

Sensation of oppression in the chest, as if the voice and breath were retarded when speaking and coughing.

[50] Hooping-cough ; attacks ; every one to three hours, with barking or dull-sounding coughs, choking the breathing, caused by tickling or dryness in the throat, or from a sensation of a soft feather in the larynx ; expectoration, only in the morning, yellow and bitter ; has to swallow this mucus down.

Aggravation, after lying down, and still more increased after midnight ; when at rest ; when lying in bed ; from heat ; from drinking ; from singing and laughing ; after having had the measles.

Cough, with vomiting first of the food, and later, at the end of the attack, of mucus.

Cough, causing sensation of constriction of the chest ; he has to press the hand on it.

Cough, with expectoration of bright red frothy or of black clotted blood.

[55] Cough, with the sound of dryness in the pharynx.

Cough when singing, causing smarting in the larynx.

Barking cough.

Dry, spasmodic cough, with gagging.

Hooping cough, with haemorrhage from the mouth and nose, anguish, blue face, wheezing breathing, suffocation.

[60] Expectoration green.

Continuous roughness and dryness in the larynx and trachea.

Sensation as if a soft body were lodged in the larynx.

Alternate soft (yellow, green, or gray) or hardened mucus in the trachea.

Inflammation of the larynx and pharynx, causing pain when talking.

[65] Deep, cracked voice.

Laryngeal and tracheal phthisis.

Pain (soreness) in the chest, from sneezing and coughing ; he has to press his chest with the hang.

The, sternum is painful, as from subcutaneous ulceration, when pressing on the part.

Black pores on the chest and shoulder.

Back.

[70] The back is painful as if bruised, particularly early in the morning.

The nape of the neck is stiff and painful to the touch.

Extremities.

Upper. Nightly rheumatic pain in the humeri, going off, during motion, in the day.

Fingers spasmodically contracted ; when grasping any thing they are rigid.

Lower. Violent stitch in the os ischium, on rising from a seat.

[75] The feet feel constantly chilly ; are covered with cold sweat.

Sleep.

Sleepiness at noon and at sunset.

Frequent starting during sleep.

Frequent waking with perspiration, or as if too wakeful.

On waking, great weariness.

Generalities.

[80] Rapid emaciation (with acute phthisis laryngealis).

Epileptic attacks, with twitching of the limbs ; after the attack, haemoptysis and sleep.

Gnawing, stinging pains in the joints.

All the limbs feel sore, as from too hard a bed.

Fever.

Chilliness, with coldness and paleness of the face and cold extremities.

[85] In the morning hours, coldness of one side (left) of the face, while the other side (right) is hot.

Chilliness and chill while at rest ; finds it everywhere too cold, even in bed.

Chilliness during the day, heat during the night.

Heat almost exclusively in the face and on the head.

Warm perspiration at night, especially after midnight and during the morning hours, mostly in the face.

[90] Intermittent fever, with sore throat and nausea.

Skin.

Gnawing-stinging in the long bones ; worse during rest.

Violent itching while undressing ; when scratching, the skin readily peels off.

Conditions.

Most ailments are worse during the night and towards morning ; from heat and during rest (while lying down).

Aggravation from a light (eyes), after understanding (itching) ; on getting warm in bed (cough ; pain in the long bones).
