Mind and Disposition.

Earnest quietness, driving one to occupy himself.

Serious and taciturn.

Head.

Vertigo when standing or walking in the open air.

Sensation of soreness (as if beaten) in the back part of the head ; worse in the morning ; when lying ; from heat ; relieved by motion and cooling the head.

Eyes.

[5] Smarting of the eyes, with lachrymation.

Pale-red inflammation of the eyelids, with nightly agglutination.

Inflammation of the eyes, with itching of the eyelids and canthi of the eye.

Diplopia ; seeing a person walk before him he imagines he sees the same man walking after him.

Nose.

Discharge of a quantity of mucus from the posterior nares.

Face.

[10] Red, inflamed, painful swelling of the face, with yellowish blisters secreting a thick yellow fluid.

Erysipelatous, inflammatory swelling of the cheeks, with vesicles full of yellowish humour.

White, oedema-like swelling of the cheeks.

Mouth and Throat.

Toothache increasing when touched or when masticating.

The teeth crumble off.

[15] Ptyalism preceded by shivering or with inclination to vomit, shuddering and griping in the stomach, the saliva tastes salt.

Burning in the throat as from hot coal, extending to the stomach with anguish (as if a flame were rushing out).

Dryness of the mouth without thirst.

Stomach and Abdomen.

Great thirst for cool drinks.

Vomiting (with diarrhoea).

[20] Nausea with shaking.

Burning (like fire) in the stomach and abdomen.

Spasmodic constriction in the stomach.

Spasmodic flatulent colic (in the morning in bed) with pain as if the abdomen were pressed asunder, relieve by leaning his head upon the elbows and knees.

Sensation of emptiness in the abdomen as after an emetic (morning).

Stool and Anus.

[25] Hard stool difficult to pass.

Stool like glue after previous itching of the rectum.

Violent itching of the rectum during urgent desire for stool, and after the evacuation.

Burning sore pain around the anus.

Diarrhoea, with tenesmus, burning at the anus, and soreness in the abdomen.

[30] Stool first thin, then knotty.

Urinary Organs.

Frequent desire to urinate with slight discharge of urine.

White sediment in the urine.

Itching stitch in the external portion of the urethra between the acts of urinating.

Genital Organs.

Men. Erection without sexual desire.

[35] Discharge of prostatic fluid from a relaxed penis.

Voluptuous itching of the prepuce.

Respiratory Organs.

Oppression of breathing, as if the chest were not wide enough, with tension in the pectoral muscles, especially when turning the body to the right side.

Stitches in the left side of the chest, during rest ; better during motion.

Sensation as if the left lobe of the lung were adhering.

[40] Warm feeling in the middle of the chest, as if hot food had been swallowed.

Dry hollow cough from tickling in the chest or throat.

Dry cough day and night, expectoration copious only in the morning.

Extremities.

Upper. Scarlet-red streaks on the (left) forearm, itching when touched.

Paralytic tightness in the shoulder-joint (in the morning) worse on moving the arm.

[45] Pain as from a sprain in the (right) upper arm when moving the arm.

Cramp pain in the muscles of the right hand, when writing.

Lower. Pain as if sprained in the hip-joint (on moving).

Burning pain at night in the femur, and hip-joint.

Pain as ; loin a sprain in the left thigh ; worse when walking, disappears ; when standing.

[50] Cold perspiration of the legs in the morning.

Great weakness of the legs.

Sore pain in the (right) heel, when walking in the open air.

The feet go to sleep frequently when sitting.

Sleep.

Sleepiness during the day-drowsiness after dinner.

[55] Sleeps with his arms extended over his head.

Generalities.

Paralytic weakness in the joints, especially felt when beginning to move.

Burning pain in the internal organs.

Rheumatic pains worse when at rest.

Fever.

Chilliness and coldness predominate.

[60] Chilliness when beginning to cat and when walking in the open (not cold) air.

Chilliness with perspiration.

Chill over the upper part of the body with heat of the cheeks.

The body is cold, with internal burning heat.

Heat with aversion to be dressed, the clothing feels heavy -Heat only on the head.

[65] Perspiration in the morning in bed.

Cold perspiration on the legs (in the morning).

Skin.

Burning in the bones.

Caries.

Cold gangrene.

[70] Old, torpid ulcers.

Blood-boils.

Warts.

Burning itching which induces scratching.
